it’s a primer, it’s a cream shadow, it’s a concealer, it’s a base… it’s everything! it’s a mac paint pot!
i would say this is my number one, can’t get through the day without it product. let’s just say, it single handedly changed eyeshadow for me.
what you do is put it all over the eye before applying any other product. do NOT apply foundation to the eye area, i know you think it’s a good idea, BUT IT’S NOT. all it will do is cause your other products to crease. i know you think it’s gonna smooth everything out, make it all matchy matchy, but DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. that’s what your paint pot is for.
now, what you’ve done by applying this product is
a) primed the lid
b) provided a smooth base
c) concealed any discoloration
d) given your lid a silky smooth appearance
it can also be used just under the eye for any product you plan on applying there (NOT IN THE UNDEREYE AREA, it is not for dark circles. you need something creamier for that).
you can now apply your regular eye makeup in a smooth, flawless way! or you can wear it alone! or you can set it with a matching shadow. either way, your eye makeup is guaranteed to last all through the day, or a hell of a lot longer than it did before.
it comes in an array of colours, but i find the neutrals such as painterly, soft ochre, and bare study to be the most useful. groundwork and blackground are great for easy peasy smoky eyes.
it retails at $21.00 CAD and its worth every penny. teedles, any makeup guru you’ve ever heard of, and every other user of paint pots concurs. another brilliant product from the people at MAC.
